WE WILL BE POSTING A NEW SONG ON SATURDAY.

Yes, take heart, you are a member of one of the most cutting edge communities -- the three week challenge, watch it take off.

So CHOP CHOP if you intend to get an entry in for Slow Graffiti. This is mainly a public reminder to myself.

(also, not at all related, did you see my synopsis of the Jonathan David film clip? It may interest those with a fanatic devotion to the band. Then again, it may not).

Title: The Truth
Rating: G (is canon even G anymore?)
Characters: Harry
Summary: And if they come tonight / You'll roll up tight and take whatever's coming to you next
A/N: I missed writing for SIM. I am back to claim my title as Slowest Writer in the Universe. Also, I haven't written any fic since my last SIM. So it's been a while. Be kind, it's quite, well, sappy. But hey, we are heading for the big Book Seven Crescendo!

To commemorate, amongst other things, the release of that glorious sixth tome to clutter your bookshelves (and, of course, the meeting of your two wonderful mods, who at present are a bit sozzled together and about to embark on a night of dancing), have a song to stimulate your inner writer!

Slow Graffiti, from the This Is Just A Modern Rock Song EPCollapse )

Audio is here, as in the good old days. Please write, basking in the glow of post-new-bookness, or any similar term you may fancy. Post at any time you fancy within the next half a fortnight.
Current Mood:
hopeful! so get on it!

Whoa, when did there get to be twenty of us willing to play along?
In honour of this, completely out of the blue and resuming a tradition that some may have believed is long dead and gone, here're some lyrics. This is my most beloved Belle and Sebastian song ever, so please be kind to it, by which I actually mean please write lots of excellent fic about it.

I Fought in a War, from Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like A PeasantCollapse )

Audio is here, just like in the times of old.

Remember that there's really no deadlines and that you can post whatever you write whenever it is done, so long as you keep track of challenge numbers, everything is carefully kept in the community's memories. So write, my dears, write! And for this time, and in the spirit of the new year (hush, I could totally be talking about the Chinese New Year, which is this coming Wednesday), there's no time limit. Just have a go at it.

Don't be thrown by that short, unannounced hiatus. This week we have a song I really like ... it's a grower, sung by Sarah (with bits from Stuart). It seems true to me.

Asleep on a Sunbeam, from Dear Catastrophe WaitressCollapse )

Go on, have a bash. Post your entries no sooner than 24 hours from now.

It's Week 13 but don't let that dampen your spirits. This week we challenge you with

Dog on Wheels, from the Dog on Wheels EPCollapse )

You may be lucky enough to find a video clip here.

Also I wrote a late entry for the Legal Man challenge.

Happy drabbling! And remember: post not within the next 24 hours.

Let us celebrate my sudden, probably fickle embracing of Marxism with a song about, well, Marxism. How surprisingly on topic!

Marx and Engels, from the I'm Waking Up To Us EPCollapse )

Audio is here. For those of you who own copies of Robert C. Tucker (editor)'s The Marx and Engels Reader, 2nd edition, you may (sort of, the translation in the book is somewhat iffy) follow along with the background singing from page 475 onwards.

This song reminds me of Lily and James, for some strange reason. Lily the riot girl and James the clueless bourgeois. Which is a plot point you are definitely welcome to borrow, should it strike you as being workable.

The Sadness That Wastes
Rating: 18 (I think this is the first sexy thing I've posted here! How the hell did that happen?)
Pairing: Harry/Zacharias
Summary: "You wanna do lines off my arse?"
Declaimer: No mine and I hope to God JKR never reads this.
Warnings/Notes: Drugs, alcohol, and sex-ish stuff. This pairing just clings to the intoxicated angst. Also, I fully admit I was listening to Depeche Mode while writing this, "Dream On" almost exclusively, but it was originally inspired by the B&S song. It still counts... right?
